Exaton 22.8.3.LSi is a gas shielded MIG wire for welding duplex stainless steels, such as UNS S32304 (e.g. SAF™ 2304) and UNS S31803 / S32205 (e.g. SAF™ 2205). It is a very popular wire predominantly used in nuclear manufacturing.
Its corrosion resistance is equal to UNS N08904 (e.g. Alleima® 2RK65™) in most applications.
It combines high strength with excellent ductility. Exaton 22.8.3.LSi can also be used for joining UNS S32304 and UNS S31803 / S32205 to carbon steel or low-alloy steels.
Alloy Type: Austenitic-ferritic (duplex) with approx. 55 FN ferrite / 22.5% Cr / 8% Ni / 3% Mo / Low C + Si
Shielding Gas: M12, M13 (EN ISO 14175)
Pulsed MIG process is recommended, and if determining an initial weld procedure and NDT, make sure to not have the amps and volts set too high (which will damage the parent metal).
