SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN ‘23

SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN ‘23 has been an amazing exhibition, and we’ve loved it. MESSE ESSEN GmbH 🇩🇪 is an impressive mammoth venue, with the whole world of welding and cutting under one roof for the week 🌎

With recent technological leaps forward in welding (especially MIG and laser), cutting, and robotics 🤖, it’s amazing to see how much our industry has changed since the last show in 2017. Companies are diversifying and evolving at super speed, and for good reason. When these new technologies are combined with cost effective manufacturing, more demand than ever for improved welding quality, efficiency, speed, ease, consistency, and traceability, it’s safe to say that the new range of machines we’ve seen, are mind blowing 🤯😍 Ultimately, the end user is going to benefit massively from these competitive market advancements. Machines are now able to take certain skills out of the job, addressing the skills shortage issue our industry is plagued with, to make recruitment that bit easier.

I think it’s also worth mentioning that Cobot welding is going to sky rocket, and will be seen everywhere. They’re now so much easier to use, becoming more adaptable with more reach, and costs coming down. All this has made it a lot easier to integrate this kit into a customer’s workshop. Interestingly, I’m curious to see how the inevitable evolution of Artificial Intelligence, will change the entire game.

Lastly, I’d like to say that the supplier stands really were stunning, with an unbelievable amount of effort put into this event. It’s been tiring being on my feet all day (and drinking beer – such a hard life 🎻), but all the companies deserve a lot of praise. So thank you everyone for your time, hospitality, putting on an impressive show, but more importantly… the free food & drinks!

I got to see old friends, made new friends, and had a fabulous time. I can’t wait for the next one 👨🏻‍🏭👩🏼‍🏭
