Our rental plant AC1200 submerged arc power source is designed to be used with our Lincoln Electric’s NA-4 controller when using a twin wire submerged arc welder, however this AC1200 it is more often used as a induction heating machine for pre-heating.

We configure this rental equipment with multiple long 95mm² heavy duty copper welding cables that can be wrapped around pipes and beams with insulation blanket to maintain and lock the heat in. This can also be setup with lugged connections or 600amp screw-type clamps coming off both the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ terminals, directing heat into the steel. Induction heating can be used expanding steel for shrink heating, or pre-heating beams. The more you wrap the copper cable around the job, the higher the magnetic field is which in turn creates more heat. The cables / blanket insulation / lugs /and  earth clamps can be connected to multiple points with infinite versatility, and transfer current accordingly to where you want it.

We have also integrated a digital heat monitor so you can check when the steel plate has reached you’re desired temperature, to make sure it stays at that temperature. You can reply on the AC 1200 for consistent balanced heat input control.

The close contact AC alternating waveform creates magnetic fields and eddy currents, which why it is extremely efficient at penetrating the steel. This is why direct current machines like our hire fleet Lincoln Electric DC 1000 doesn’t work for heating applications.

It is a power source that you can count on day-in and day-out to provide proven performance.
