What is back gouging?

For a 2/3^rd 1/3^rd front and back prep, back gouging will be needed for cleaning the MAG root out on the other side. Back gouging will open up the other side ready for sub arc runs, in order to gain access for penetration. This will get rid of porosity and gaps for defect-free full penetration.
