The Idealarc® DC-655 has a rugged construction, simple controls and 650amps @ 100% duty cycle output rating for flat out 10mm gouging carbons. To gouge 10mm carbons properly, you need 600amps. See gouging guide here.
A 63amp or 125amp plug would be fitted for your hire. At full power, this machine pulls approx. 90 amps off the 415V supply, and more when on an 16mm² 4-core extension lead.
We don’t recommend using 13mm carbons with the DC 655, as 900 to 1000amps would be required. We recommend the Lincoln Electric DC 1000 for 13mm carbons.
