Genuine Tweco No. 4. The classic.

This Classic 4 400amp @ 60% duty air cooled MIG torch can actually handle 400amps air cooled. It has been the go to staple product for 40+ years. It’s heavy duty, long-lasting, and can handle 300amps with Argon/Co2 mixed-gas @ 100% air cooled (10 minutes continuous / 10 cool down before the trigger melts).

A TBi MB36 air cooled MIG torch (360amp rated torch) for example can only weld @ 300amps for 4 minutes / 6 minutes cool down, and the parts aren’t as robust and hard-wearing as the Tweco design.

Despite being quite heavy and a bit bulky, it’s actually well balanced and feels sturdy when welding hot. Welders love this torch because it can take the abuse a workshop throws at it, without letting the operator down.

For fabrication shops wanting to keep their welding machines air cooled, simple, and straight-forward, this torch can hammer 1.2mm wire welding 15mm to 15mm plate all day, before you need to go water cooled.
