Despite being a 5 in 1 MIG/HF ACDC TIG/Stick welder, the best feature on the Rebel EMP 205ic, would have to be the AC HF TIG mode. ESAB have incoportated ‘independant amplitude offset’ (which is a secondary AC balance setting feature). This advanced parameter settings allows the operator to easily adjust the heat input into the torch / earth, meaning you sharpen a zirconiated white tip tungsten when welding aluminium (and not have to let it ball over). This is probably the best AC TIG welder we’ve tested, and produced some stunning aluminium welds.
This is the same type of AC TIG technology the £8,000 + VAT Miller Dynasty 400 AC/DC TIG has in it’s arsenal, so this Rebel 205 really does come packed with some special features.
