OK Autrod 308LSi

A corrosion resistant chromium-nickel solid stainless wire for welding austenitic chromium nickel alloys of 18% Cr – 8% Ni-type.

OK Autrod 308LSi is designed exclusively for welding 304 grade stainless steel (which is cheaper than 316). Do not use 308 MIG wire on 316 grade stainless material.

308LSi has a good general corrosion resistance with a low carbon content, making it particularly good when there is risk of intergranular corrosion (intergranular corrosion occurs when certain metals and alloys reach temperatures between 425°C and 870°C).

The higher silicon content improves the welding properties, such as wetting. 308 alloy is widely used in the chemical and food processing industries as well as for pipes, tubes and boilers.
